Street Styling: Glasgow males - what yah got??!

Glasgow......you sure are a stylish bunch ain't ya?

What a lovely day I had scounting and photographing you snappy male dressers. Lots of variety, colour, styles and personalities. Highlights from my day are below - My favourite is probably Duncan, the guy with the gorgeous firey red hair and white winklepickers who pulls his whole look off with fantastic style and coolness I only wish I could possess....

....And so a return to Glasgow in the near future is already pencilled in the diary, next time it's the ladies turn to impress me with their quirky, kooky looks and warm personalities which I hope dearly to see lots of :)

The men have set the barrier very high ladies - can you beat them?

Style Hunting: Leeds Festival

ahh Leeds, you were a tough cookie when it came to finding some fashion gems in between the dirt, grime, mud and mosh pits....but here are a few of my favourites i snapped:

Denim shorts were the order or the day (and entire festival....) This uber cute festival lady caught my eye by teaming her vintage waisted pair with mock suspender tights and cute brogues. Added twist and shout came from a granny style florals shirt and cute scarf wrapped in her hair - camper for sure ;)

Although flowerpower head bands were totally overkilled (and seriously overpriced...) I loved how this chick mixed hers with hard edgy boots and a faux fur leopard print jacket yet still looked feminine.

"na na na na na na na na na na . doo doo doo doo doo doo" I just had to snap this one. He was just so excited for blink it made me happy.

Surprisingly, not many skinny jeans were paraded all wkend, guessing thats more of a Reading thing?? This guy had a cute pair though and a cute baldy man on his tee...so a snap was required.

Refreshing to see a change from ugly green wellies to cute little boots being on show over the wkend, especially these ones teamed with little lace ankle socks. Plenty of lace also on show = plenty of lace clothing which almost certainly got abandoned by end of fest due to holes in them from too much mish-moshing....

i want please. thanks.

So, as part of my fashion and textiles course at uni I had to undertake a photoshoot then create a look book for it....

I based my theme on a toned down, chilled out Alice in Wonderland, quirky tights, crazy pinned hair and ruffles were the key elements. Colour palette was reversed from traditional Alice-style to a more neutral story.

Bribing my friend Melaine with chocolate, she kindly modelled for me whilst I styled and photographed the shoot
. My friend Ash did a fab job of hair and makeup. My backgarden proved to be an fantastic location for this shoot.

We had such a giggle it didn't seem like a coursework project at all! Hope you like....

Pic 1:Lace bow was made by myself, Purple top from Topshop, black lace skirt is vintage.

Pic 2: Lace pleated dress was a vintage find which I adore, tights are from Topshop, hair piece I created myself.

Pic 3: Ruffled dress from Topshop, beads and bows from fabric store and lace parasol was another fabulous vintage find.

Even my gorgeous dog Lucy got involved :)
